Back to ‘Normal’! ~ (Back to the Uni) …

… whatever ‘normal’ is for Northern Rivers NSW as we grapple with recovering from this year’s monster flood!

After a short stint at St Peter’s in Goonellabah (THANKyou to the Anglican Church there), we’re so very pleased to announce that we’re now back rehearsing in the performance space within Southern Cross Uni’s MUSIC DEPARTMENT [also known as ‘D’ Block].

Rehearsal times are still 6.15pm setup, so aim to be there for 6pm.

Stands & charts are provided if you don’t have your own.

QR sign-ins no longer apply; masking is optional.

Please contact our Band Leader/Musical Director, Ben van Kleef, if you have any queries re: instruments, or our Secretary, Letitia, if you have any special needs or concerns:

  • Ben ~ 0432 575 911
  • Letitia ~ secretary.lismore.concertband@gmail.com

Love to see you there!

Temporary rehearsal venue from 14/3/22

Our usual venue at Southern Cross University is unavailable as it is being used as a flood evacuation centre.

We have found a rehearsal venue in Goonellabah, which will be available until we are able to return to SCU rehearsals.

Rehearsals will remain at the same time: arrive at 6ish, Monday evenings, for a 6:15 start.

Venue: St Peter’s Anglican Church, 53 Deegan Dr, Goonellabah NSW 2480

Please bring instruments, music, music stand, drip cloth and a can-do attitude and we shall get through this difficult time together.

STOP PRESS!!   Band rehearsals are ON again!! :-)

Post-lockdown restart of rehearsals means that we have to stick to the ‘Double-Vaxxed only’ rule from 18th Oct 2021 until 1st December 2021, after which no such restrictions will apply … What this is all means is that we still need to do QR checkins, sanitise hands, bring our own clean cloth for water emissions ... but ADDITIONALLY, the Uni wants to know how many of us to expect after-hours, so please text our dear band leader, Ben, on 0432 575 911, or email our secretary, Letitia, at secretary.lismore.concertband@gmail.com, to let either of them know of your intention to arrive [so that they may in turn advise SCU of total numbers].  Thanks in advance for your understanding & cooperation, as we are obliged to follow the conditions outlined by our host, Southern Cross Uni, as well as current State regulations, + we want everyone to be well.  … EITHER WAY!  Get practising, ‘coz soon you can be making sweet harmonies with us regardless of your current vax-status or other health concerns. Can’t stop the music!  🙂

3rd Term Rehearsals: Week1 CANCELLED

DEAR ACTIVE BAND MEMBERS …

Please be advised that, amidst current uncertainty re: spread of the SARS-2 virus, Southern Cross Uni has tightened its policy re: gatherings on-campus, leaving us to make the hard decision to cancel tonight’s rehearsal … ~ … SINCERE APOLOGIES FOR SUCH SHORT NOTICE.

Please stay tuned for ongoing advice re: next week’s Band Practice as we continue to be guided by SCU policy, but don’t let that stop you from PRACTISING! 😉

WISHING YOU ALL WELL.
